Pilgrim

Unlike a holiday, its central purpose is spiritual: pilgrims may travel to pray, give thanks, seek healing or renew their faith. The place usually has a connection with important religious events or people. For example, Christians visit Jerusalem because of its connection with Jesus’ suffering, crucifixion and burial.
