Revise: Features of the GurdwaraThe palki is the canopy structure above the throne. Together, the palki and takht give the Guru Granth Sahib an honoured position rather than treating it as an ordinary book on a shelf. The palki may bear the Khanda symbol or the word ‘Waheguru’, reminding worshippers of Sikh beliefs and directing attention towards God.
