Revise: The Local ChurchA local church is a Christian congregation serving a particular community, as well as the place where that congregation meets. Its importance therefore lies both in what happens inside the building and in how its members live out their faith beyond it. A parish is a geographical area served by its own church and clergy.
Specification 3.7 · Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3
A community of Christians who meet in a particular locality for worship, support and service; the term can also refer to their place of worship.
For 1 Peter 5:1–4, explain the shepherd image and how leaders should serve willingly, without greed or domination. Connect the teaching to a local church activity.
Keep examples local when the question asks about the local church. Include Easter and baptism when explaining worship through living practices, rather than discussing only charitable work.

A local church is a community of Christians who gather in a particular place. Its building provides somewhere for worship, but its role also includes supporting believers and serving the surrounding area. A parish is a geographical area served by a church and its clergy, such as a priest or vicar.
