Revise: Equality and Freedom of ReligionOn religious choice, the Qur’an states: ‘There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion’ (2:256). Many Muslims understand this to mean that faith must be freely accepted, not imposed. Qur’an 18:29 also recognises a choice between belief and rejection.
Link a religious teaching to the attitude it supports: explain why ‘no compulsion in religion’ supports voluntary faith, rather than merely quoting it.
