Revise: Love and SexualityCommunion means a deep sharing of life and love between persons. Complementarity means that men and women have equal dignity, while their sexual differences enable a distinctive union in marriage. Difference does not mean that one sex is more valuable than the other.

Distinguish communion with the deceased from communicating with spirits: it concerns continuing unity in Christ and prayer for the person who has died.
Use Lumen Gentium paragraph 7 for Eucharistic communion and the Church as Christ’s Body. Paragraph 11 describes the Eucharistic sacrifice as the ‘fount and apex’ of Christian life, expressing ‘source and summit’.
Explain communion with the deceased as continuing spiritual unity and prayer, not communication with the dead.

Communion with the deceased means that the person who has died is not treated as cut off from the Church’s spiritual life. Catholics understand the living and the deceased as united through Christ. Praying for the person and commending them to God express this continuing bond.

Revise: Liturgical WorshipThe Mass is the Catholic celebration centred on the Eucharist, or Holy Communion. The altar is its focal point because the Eucharist is central to the celebration. Catholics gather for Mass each week, bringing their individual lives into the worship of the community.
Shared spiritual unity and belonging. In the funeral rite, it includes the community’s unity with one another and its continuing bond with the deceased in Christ.
