Paper 2
Revise: Contemporary Family IssuesIn Britain, a person cannot enter a second legal marriage while already legally married: doing so is bigamy. A religious ceremony does not automatically create a legally recognised marriage, so a polygamous religious arrangement formed in Britain does not give every partner the legal status of a spouse. Some polygamous marriages validly performed abroad may be recognised, depending on the circumstances.
