An aggregate is an aspect of the physical or mental experience that makes up a person. The five interact; they are not five separate selves.

The Five Khandas, or aggregates, describe these physical and mental processes. Khandha is the Pali word; skandha is the Sanskrit equivalent. An aggregate is a group or collection of factors, rather than a single permanent part of a person.
