Spatial model

A spatial model focuses on arrangement: a diagram of an atom can show which parts are within or around the nucleus. Neither representation needs to reproduce every feature or the true scale. A descriptive model sets out an explanation in words or rules, such as the particle model's account of how matter behaves in different states.
