The frequency at which an object's emitted radiation is strongest.

Revise: Climate change and evidenceAt much higher temperatures, an object can emit enough visible radiation to glow red, then become brighter as its temperature rises. This is why the much hotter Sun emits radiation with a higher principal frequency than the cooler Earth.
Do not say simply that a hotter body emits ‘more heat’. State that it emits electromagnetic radiation at greater intensity and that its wavelength distribution shifts towards shorter wavelengths, with a higher principal frequency.
