Revise: Heating EffectThe heating effect can occur in any resistor carrying a current, even when heating is not the intended purpose of the circuit. A component may feel warmer after current has passed through it because energy has been transferred to its thermal energy store. If there is no current through the resistor, this electrical heating effect does not occur.
- Revise: Reducing Unwanted Energy Transfer
The transfer of electrical energy to the thermal energy stores of a conductor and its surroundings when current flows through resistance.
