Revise: Work done in stretchingThe force–extension graph shows the changing force. Work done is the area beneath this graph because each small part of the area represents force multiplied by a small distance moved.
On a force–extension graph, put extension on the horizontal axis and force on the vertical axis. The work done is the area under the graph.
