Revise: Key ideasA field is the region around a source in which another suitable object can experience a force. A mass produces a gravitational field, a charge produces an electric field, and a magnet or electric current can produce a magnetic field. Fields let us analyse this apparent ‘action at a distance’: for example, the Earth’s gravitational field exerts a force on a falling object without physical contact.
