Revise: Reaction timeCompare suitable summary values, look for overlap and anomalous results, and consider the number of repeats and participants. If distracted trials have a larger mean reaction time, the data support an association between that distraction and slower responses under those test conditions. Conclusions should not be broader than the evidence: uncontrolled differences between people, practice, fatigue or an inconsistent stimulus could also affect the result.
