A solid with the same cross-section throughout its length and two parallel, matching end faces. In a right prism, the length is perpendicular to the end faces.

A right prism has the same cross-section at every point along that length. A cuboid has a rectangular cross-section; a triangular prism has a triangular one. A cylinder works in the same way with a circular cross-section.
