Revise: Shape TerminologyOn a cube, an edge is the segment where two faces meet, and a vertex is a corner where edges meet. The cube has 12 edges and 8 vertices; the flat face you can see is only a bounded part of a plane.
For a polyhedron, a straight line segment where two faces meet.
A line where two surfaces of a solid meet; it may be straight or curved.
Count systematically, including parts hidden in a perspective drawing. Mark each face, edge or vertex as you count it.
State whether a surface is flat or curved. Under the convention used here, the circular boundaries of cones and cylinders are not counted as edges because they are not straight line segments where two flat faces meet.
