Revise: Opposition to WarWatergate began with the discovery of a break-in at Democratic Party offices in the Watergate complex in Washington, DC, in June 1972. The burglars were linked to Nixon’s re-election organisation. Media reporting and official investigations subsequently exposed a cover-up and other abuses of power.
Watergate concerned political wrongdoing and a cover-up, not a battle in Vietnam. Explain its relevance through declining trust in Nixon.
