Revise: Agricola and the Role of EmperorsDuring the following winter, Agricola encouraged Romanisation, the adoption of Roman practices. He supported temples, public squares and private houses, praising enthusiastic builders and reproaching the reluctant. Competition for prestige encouraged cooperation without constant direct coercion.
