Revise: The ChurchChurches and cathedrals were built in the Romanesque style, with features such as rounded door and window arches and symmetrical designs. Major cathedral building projects included Winchester, Durham, Norwich and Ely. The rebuilding programme extended beyond William I’s reign and beyond 1100; it was not a single completed project under Lanfranc.
