Revise: Other Literary SourcesSuetonius, Claudius 24.3 identifies the honour as an ovation, a lesser victory ceremony. Claudius met Plautius, accompanied him to the Capitol and gave him the position of honour on their return. Dio’s description of the reward is incorrect, but both accounts support Plautius’ importance and the emperor’s public recognition of him.
