Revise: Cultural EncountersMany Sioux and Cheyenne communities lived a nomadic life, moving seasonally with buffalo herds. However, not everyone on the Plains lived this way. The Mandan and Hidatsa lived in more permanent riverbank settlements, growing crops such as corn, beans and squash.
