Paper 3
Revise: Transformation of landscape and peopleChildren born to Spanish and Indigenous parents formed a population of mixed ancestry known as mestizos. This was a change in the ancestry of the population, not simply the adoption of Spanish customs by Indigenous people.
Use Martín, the son of Cortés and Malintzin, as an early example of mixed Spanish and Indigenous ancestry, not as proof that he was the first mestizo.
