Revise: Interpretations of AppeasementThis counter-revisionist view therefore did not simply repeat the accusations of 1940. It challenged revisionist defences by asking whether Chamberlain’s own decisions made a difficult situation worse. Access to new archives helped broaden these questions, but did not establish one final answer.
Do not present orthodox, revisionist and counter-revisionist views as stages in which every historian agreed. Different interpretations existed alongside one another.
