Black Hand

The Black Hand, formed in Belgrade in 1911, was a secret nationalist organisation that supported terrorist action to achieve Serbian unity. Some members held positions in the Serbian military or government, giving the organisation access to weapons and assistance. However, links between individual officials and nationalist conspirators were not the same as proof that the Serbian government had ordered an assassination.
