Revise: Post-war Society and EconomyThe baby boom of 1946–1964 increased demand for homes and goods for growing families. More than 13 million new homes were built during the 1950s. Companies such as Levitt and Sons developed Levittown communities in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, using mass-production methods to build relatively affordable suburban houses with modern amenities.
