Arrian’s Greek account of Alexander’s expedition, written centuries after it and also known in English as The Campaigns of Alexander.

Arrian wrote his Anabasis of Alexander centuries later, under the Roman Empire. He had experience of military command and government, but had not witnessed Alexander’s expedition. He drew especially on Ptolemy and Aristobulus, who had accompanied it.
