Definition

A parliamentary measure declaring someone guilty and imposing punishment without an ordinary trial.

Parliament then used an Act of Attainder to condemn her without an ordinary trial. She was executed for treason on 21 April 1534, and Henry ordered her written prophecies to be burnt.
