Revise: Pasargadae and the Death of CyrusOne reads, ‘I, Cyrus, the King, an Achaemenid’. Although written in Cyrus’ voice, it is understood as a later inscription commissioned under Darius. By identifying Cyrus as an Achaemenid, Darius reinforced the claim that both kings belonged to the same royal line.
