Revise: Stakeholder Perspectives and Comparative Case StudiesSpain has increasingly turned to desalination, which removes salt to provide freshwater, and reclaimed water, which is treated wastewater used again. Reuse can reduce the need to take additional freshwater for agriculture and industry. These approaches diversify supply, but a sustainable strategy must also control demand: additional water can otherwise encourage further consumption, as the Tagus–Segura experience demonstrates.
