Revise: Investigating Flood Management Options and PoliciesA policy retaining that site as undeveloped flood plain would therefore prevent the proposed buildings being placed within the mapped flood area. It would also restrict development on that land. This supports a conclusion about the location of development, not a claim that every existing property would become safe.
Distinguish a policy’s intended effect from evidence of its actual impact. Better maintenance does not, by itself, prove that flooding has decreased.
