Revise: Factors Affecting Landform Change RatesOn a discordant coast, alternating bands run at right angles to the shoreline, exposing different rock types to waves. Less resistant bands retreat faster to form bays, while more resistant bands remain projecting into the sea as headlands. This is differential erosion: neighbouring sections change at different rates.
