A range used to group numerical observations, such as depths from 10 cm up to, but not including, 20 cm.

Revise: Constructing and Selecting Standard GraphsFor this course, construct histograms with equal class intervals. For example, river depths could be grouped into 0–less than 10 cm, 10–less than 20 cm and 20–less than 30 cm. These intervals all have a width of 10 cm and do not overlap.

Revise: Common and Specialized Geographical Graph TypesContinuous measurements can be grouped into class intervals before they are graphed.
Use equal-width, separated bars for a bar chart; use touching bars for a histogram with equal class intervals.
Distinguish separate categories in a bar graph from adjoining continuous intervals in a histogram. OCR specifies histograms with equal class intervals.
