Revise: Child Labour and EducationChild labour is work that children are too young to do, or that harms their health, development or education. It is different from safe, age-appropriate household tasks that leave enough time for school, play and rest. Harmful work can involve farming, domestic service, selling goods, manufacturing, construction or mining.
Do not treat all work done by children as child labour: distinguish harmful work from safe, age-appropriate tasks that do not interfere with schooling.
Evaluate strategies by considering both their benefits and their limitations. One child's return to learning does not prove that a programme has solved child labour across a country.
