The selection and arrangement of story events as they are presented in a film.
Revise: NarrativeStory and plot are closely related but distinct. The story consists of events in the film’s world, understood in chronological order. It includes events we infer as well as those we see.
The events selected and presented by a film, in the order in which the spectator encounters them.
For an identify question, give the specific event or sequence requested: ‘Amelia discovers the torn-up book has returned to her doorstep’, not just ‘a plot point’.
Match the command word: describing where a sequence fits into the plot requires its position and surrounding events; explaining its significance requires consequences or meaning.
Identify a specific example from the film, not just a technique: ‘Parvana cuts her hair and puts on her brother’s clothes’, rather than ‘a plot point’.
