Toxicity

Toxicity is the ability of a substance to harm living organisms. Electronic products can contain toxic heavy metals, including lead, cadmium and mercury. When discarded equipment is buried in landfill, hazardous substances can leach into soil and watercourses, creating hazards for wildlife as well as people.
