Revise: Ecological issues in designMining obtains materials such as metal ores from the ground. Mining can contaminate soil and cause erosion; it can also cause ground instability, including sinkholes. A metal component may be useful and durable, but the environmental cost of obtaining its raw material still matters.
Link an activity to a specific environmental consequence: for example, mining can contaminate soil, damaging the land and habitats. ‘It is bad for the environment’ is too vague.
