Thin, smooth, slightly translucent paper used for sketching and developing design ideas.

Revise: Papers and boardsLayout paper suits the development of ideas, while tracing paper is especially useful when copying an existing outline accurately or adding a separate overlay. Grid paper provides printed guides instead: a square grid can support a graph or layout, whereas an isometric grid guides an isometric drawing.
Do not confuse layout paper with tracing paper: layout paper is slightly translucent for developing ideas, while tracing paper is very translucent for copying and overlays.
