Revise: LinkagesA fixed pivot stays in the same position on the product's frame. A moving pivot joins moving parts and travels with them. Together, these joints control how the rods can move: the arrangement determines the direction and distance of the output movement.
When explaining a linkage, identify the input, the fixed pivot and the output, then state how the direction of movement changes.
In a sketch, distinguish fixed pivots from moving pivots and add arrows showing a consistent pair of input and output movements.
