Revise: Cost FactorsFire proofing, more accurately described as flame-retardant treatment, improves resistance to ignition or burning. Stain-resistant treatment makes staining less likely. Water proofing prevents water passing through the textile.
Treat ‘fire proofing’ as improving resistance to ignition or burning, not a guarantee that a textile cannot burn.
