Used by OCR
Paper 1
Revise: Common Network ProtocolsSMTP, or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, is used for sending email. It transfers outgoing messages from the sender’s email client to their email server, and between email servers towards the recipient’s server.
SMTP sends email; POP and IMAP provide access to received email. For POP versus IMAP, explain whether messages are normally removed from or retained on the server.
