One traversal through the relevant items in a list. In bubble sort, a pass compares successive adjacent pairs.

Revise: Standard Sorting AlgorithmsOne complete traversal is a pass. During a left-to-right pass in ascending order, the largest value moves towards the right-hand end. Once the pass finishes, that value is in its final position.
When asked to show stages, record the intermediate lists, not just the final sorted result. Follow any instructions about showing passes, comparisons or swaps.
Trace the version of the algorithm you are given: bubble sort may use a fixed number of passes or stop after a pass with no swaps.
