Paper 1
Revise: Types of NetworkThe two types here are Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs).
When comparing LANs and WANs, give paired differences: a LAN covers a small geographical area, whereas a WAN covers a large geographical area.
Classify a network by its geographical coverage, not just its number of devices. A school LAN can contain many computers.
Use ownership carefully: LAN infrastructure is usually owned by one person or organisation; WAN connections often use infrastructure belonging to other organisations.
