Revise: Purpose and Functionality of Utility SoftwareThese activities are often called housekeeping. Here, housekeeping means keeping the system in good working order, rather than producing something such as a presentation. Utilities may interact with hardware, including secondary storage devices where files are kept.
Explain what housekeeping achieves: maintaining, organising or troubleshooting the computer system. Do not just say that utilities are ‘useful programs’.
