Revise: Characteristics of Embedded SystemsAn embedded system is a computer system built into a larger device and dedicated to a specific function or closely related set of tasks. Its purpose is to make that device work, rather than to provide a computer for many unrelated activities.
A computer system built into a larger device or system to perform a dedicated function or limited range of tasks.
For a definition, include both a dedicated purpose and being built into a larger device. Small size alone does not define an embedded system.
When explaining suitability, link the characteristic to the device: for example, a small embedded system fits inside the appliance.
