The process of converting ciphertext back into plaintext using the appropriate algorithm and key.

Revise: EncryptionThe receiver then uses the appropriate decryption algorithm and key to convert the ciphertext back into plaintext. This reverse process is called decryption, and it allows the authorised receiver to use the original information.
If asked why encryption is used, link your answer to the situation: intercepted customer bank details cannot be understood without the correct decryption key.
