Revise: Chromatography TechniquesIn thin-layer chromatography, usually shortened to TLC, it is placed on a thin, uniform coating of silica gel or alumina supported on glass, metal or rigid plastic. The basic practical method is very similar for both techniques.
Distinguish the materials: paper chromatography uses chromatography paper; thin-layer chromatography uses a thin coating of silica gel or alumina on a support.
