The percentage of an element’s atoms that are a particular isotope.

Revise: Relative Atomic MassThe percentage abundance tells us what percentage of the element’s atoms belong to a particular isotope. An abundance of 72% means that, in a representative group of 100 atoms, about 72 would be that isotope.
Multiply each isotope’s mass by its own percentage abundance before adding the contributions. Do not simply average the isotope masses unless their abundances are equal.
