Revise: Human Land Use and Habitat DestructionPeat bogs are waterlogged, acidic habitats. When plants die, the lack of oxygen in the waterlogged ground slows decomposition, so their remains do not decay fully. Partly decomposed plant material gradually accumulates to form peat.
