Revise: Causes and Effects of DeforestationDeforestation is the clearing of forests, usually on a large scale. In tropical areas, forests have been cleared to make land available for agriculture. The aim is not simply to remove trees: it is to replace the forest with a different land use.
For tropical deforestation, name the specific land uses: cattle farming, rice fields and crops for biofuels. ‘For farming’ alone is less precise.
