Revise: Fleming's Left-Hand Rule (HT Only)A conductor is a material through which electric charge can flow. When a wire carries a current, it produces a magnetic field around itself. If that wire is placed in another magnetic field, such as the field between the poles of a magnet, the two magnetic fields interact.
In F = BIl, use only the length of conductor inside the magnetic field, measured in metres.
Check that the conductor is perpendicular to the field before applying F = BIl. The equation is provided on the physics equation sheet; you must be able to apply and rearrange it.
