Revise: Glucagon and Insulin InteractionThe two hormones have antagonistic actions, meaning that their effects oppose each other. Insulin lowers blood glucose concentration by promoting glucose uptake and storage; glucagon raises it by promoting the breakdown of liver glycogen and the release of glucose. Neither hormone converts the molecules itself: each signals to cells to carry out the appropriate process.
